Welcome to 1A's web page. My name is Mrs Melissa Ibbs and I have been teaching Year One at Morayfield State School for the past three years.

Over the last two years I have been team teaching with Miss Jody Clough, which allows children variety and the ability to extend on their communication skills between two classes. We both enjoy providing a stimulating environment where teaching and learning can be fun and enagaging.

I believe that all children are unique and should all be treated equally. Through my teaching I provide opportunities for individual personalities to be seen and the chance for incidental learning to occur. It is my aim to meet the needs of all children in my care, allowing them to develop and excel at their own pace with adequate support throughout their learning.

As I feel it is important to be involved with your child's education I welcome all families, and for any concerns please don't hesitate to make an appointment to meet with me.

During Term 3 our Learning Journey will be 'Healthy Me'. This will focus on healthy eating and appropriate physical actvitiy in order to keep our bodies healthy.

We will be exploring the five food groups and monitoring our own healthy eating choices in our lunch boxes. Through this journey we will be providing cooking experiences and a guest speaker will address us about health issues.

Towards the end of the term we will be having a classroom 'healthy eating' picnic where familes are invited to come along and share in on our celebration.
